Travel Vaccines: What You Need To Know

Travelling abroad can be an exciting and rewarding experience, but it can also come with health risks. Vaccines are an important part of staying healthy when travelling outside of your home country. Knowing which vaccines you need and when to get them is essential for protecting yourself and your loved ones.

Understanding Vaccines

Vaccines are designed to prevent serious and potentially deadly illnesses. They work by introducing a weakened or dead form of a virus or bacteria into the body. This triggers an immune response, allowing the body to recognise and fight off the disease if it is encountered again. Vaccines are essential for protecting yourself and your loved ones while travelling abroad.

When To Get Vaccinated

It is important to get vaccinated at least four to six weeks before your trip to ensure that you are protected. Some vaccines require multiple doses for full protection and may need to be taken weeks or even months apart. It is also important to check for any travel alerts or advisories for your destination.

Please note, there is a £30 travel health consultation fee if no vaccine is purchased. This fee will be waived if vaccines, malaria tablets and other travel related products are  purchased are over £100.
